Today I’ll discuss how COVID-19 has impacted our market and what it means for afterward.
For today’s message, I’d like to share an interview in which I discussed how COVID-19 is affecting the local market, and more specifically, how what’s happening now differs from what we saw just a few weeks ago when the virus first emerged. Despite all the fear and uncertainty, the market has fared better than I thought it would at this point. There have been surprising amounts of buyer activity for our listings, including offers and contracts. This week alone, we put three properties under contract. However, overall buyer activity is down substantially; comparing April 2019 to April 2020, the number of homes that went under contract dropped by 51%.
